1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how ApexReport (“ApexReport,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with our website(s), newsletters, events, and any other online or offline services that link to this Policy (collectively, the “Services”).

ApexReport is a media company covering luxury real estate, architecture and interior design, furniture and appliances, business, distinctive cars and superyachts, aviation and luxury travel, and fashion. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Use. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

For purposes of applicable data protection laws, ApexReport is the entity responsible for deciding how and why your personal information is processed (the “data controller” or, under California law, the “business”).

This Policy does not apply to information submitted by job applicants, employees, or contractors, which is instead governed by our separate HR privacy notice, where applicable.

2. The Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with ApexReport — for example, browsing our articles, subscribing to a newsletter, leaving a comment, entering a giveaway or sweepstakes (such as a luxury travel or automotive prize), registering for an event, or contacting our editorial or advertising teams.

Information You Provide to Us

• Registration and contact information, such as name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
• Comments and user-generated content, including comments on articles, photos, or feedback you submit, which may be publicly displayed alongside your name or profile image.
• Customer service information, such as questions or messages you send us by email, form, or phone.
• Newsletter and subscription preferences, such as which topics you follow (e.g., aviation, superyachts, real estate) and communication frequency.
• Sweepstakes and contest information, such as entries for promotions (for example, a giveaway tied to a featured car, yacht charter, or travel experience), including information required to fulfill a prize.
• Event registration information, if you register for or attend an ApexReport event, summit, or preview.
• Financial and transactional information, such as billing details, if you purchase a subscription or product through the Services (processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers).
• Social media information, if you interact with us through a linked social account or our social media pages.
• Other information you choose to provide directly to us.

Information We Collect Automatically

• Device and log information, such as IP address, browser type and language, operating system, device identifiers, and referring/exit pages.
• Usage information, such as articles viewed, links clicked, search terms used on the Site, time spent on pages, and interactions with our emails.
• Approximate location information, such as city or region inferred from your IP address.
• Cookie and tracking data, described further in Section 8 (Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies).

Information From Third Parties

We may supplement the information above with information from analytics providers, advertising partners, and publicly available sources, in each case consistent with your privacy settings on those services and applicable law.

3. How We Use the Information We Collect

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including displaying and moderating comments.
• Send newsletters, subscriber updates, and communications you have requested.
• Administer giveaways, sweepstakes, contests, and event registrations.
• Personalize content recommendations (for example, surfacing more aviation or design coverage based on your reading habits).
• Serve and measure advertising, including interest-based advertising, and support our editorial sponsorships and partnerships with luxury brands.
• Respond to customer service inquiries and provide support.
• Conduct analytics and research to understand how readers use the Services and to improve our content and features.
• Detect, prevent, and address spam, fraud, security incidents, and misuse of the Services.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy.

We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to you, and use such information for any lawful business purpose, including editorial and research purposes.

4. How We Share the Information We Collect

We may disclose your information as follows:

• Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as email delivery, hosting, analytics, payment processing, and customer support.
• Advertising and analytics partners, who may receive device and usage information to deliver and measure advertising on the Services and elsewhere (see Section 8).
• Sweepstakes, contest, or event partners, where you have entered a promotion or registered for an event co-sponsored by a third party — for example, a luxury travel or automotive brand.
• Other users, where you choose to post comments or content publicly.
• Legal and safety purposes, including to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect our rights, or protect the safety of ApexReport, our readers, or the public.
• Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your location, sharing information with advertising partners for interest-based advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state laws — see Section 6(D) for your opt-out rights.

5. Legal Grounds for Using Your Information

Where required by law (such as under the GDPR for readers in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), our legal bases for processing your information include:

• Performance of a contract, to provide Services you request (e.g., fulfilling a subscription).
• Legitimate interests, such as securing the Services, understanding readership and improving our content, and responding to inquiries — provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent, for non-essential cookies, marketing communications, and other uses where consent is required by local law. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation, where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.

For our editorial activities, we may also rely on legitimate interest or the exercise of freedom of expression and information, consistent with applicable journalistic exemptions.

6. Your Rights & Your Choices

A. Marketing Choices

You can stop receiving promotional emails from ApexReport at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any marketing email, or by updating your preferences in our newsletter preference center. We may still send transactional messages, such as account or order confirmations.

B. Cookies

You can manage non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or preference tool, and through your browser settings. See Section 8 for details on the categories of cookies we use and how to control them.

C. Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, or the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have the right to:

• Request access to, or a copy of, the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal or security requirements).
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your information.
• Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 30–45 days, subject to extension). You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification. EEA/UK/Swiss residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

D. Sale / Targeted Advertising Opt-Out Rights

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia may opt out of the “sale” of personal information or its use for targeted/cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable state law. We may share device, cookie, and browsing information with advertising partners to deliver relevant ads, which may be considered a “sale” or “share” under these laws.

To opt out, use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Site footer, adjust your cookie preferences in our cookie banner, or contact us at info@apexreport.org. If your browser sends a recognized opt-out preference signal (such as Global Privacy Control), we will honor it as required by law. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors under 16 without the required affirmative authorization.

E. Subscriber & Newsletter Preferences

If you subscribe to any ApexReport newsletter or publication (for example, our design, aviation, or automotive editions), you can update your topic preferences or unsubscribe at any time via the link in each newsletter, or by emailing info@apexreport.org. Changing your newsletter preferences does not automatically change other communication preferences, such as event invitations, which are managed separately.

7. Retention of Your Information

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Comments and their associated metadata may be retained indefinitely to support spam prevention and comment moderation. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.

8. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (“Cookies”) on the Services for the following purposes:

• Strictly necessary cookies, required for core site functionality (e.g., remembering your cookie consent choice); these cannot be disabled.
• Functional cookies, which remember preferences such as saved articles or display settings.
• Analytics cookies, which help us understand how readers use the Services (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Advertising cookies, which support the delivery and measurement of ads, including interest-based ads from our advertising partners and luxury-brand sponsors.

Our Site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as there is no common industry standard for interpreting them; however, we do honor legally recognized opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control where required.

Google AdSense and Other Advertising Partners

We use Google AdSense and may use other third-party advertising vendors and ad networks to display ads on the Services. In connection with these services:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), or by visiting aboutads.info/choices to opt out of participating third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we obtain your consent to non-essential advertising cookies before they are set, using a consent management platform consistent with Google’s EU User Consent Policy, and you may withdraw or change your consent at any time via our cookie preference tool.

9. Links to Third-Party Sites

The Services may link to or embed content from third-party websites (for example, videos, social posts, or partner content related to real estate listings, auto shows, or travel providers) that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

10. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Special Note for Parents

The Services are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@apexreport.org so we can address it.

12. International Data Transfers

ApexReport may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, and processed in, a country with data protection laws that differ from those of your home jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, and apply security measures consistent with this Policy.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above, and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice.

14. Disputes; No Rights of Third Parties

Any dispute regarding privacy in connection with your use of the Services is subject to our Terms of Use, including any applicable dispute resolution provisions and governing law. This Privacy Policy does not create any rights enforceable by third parties.

Appendix A: California Privacy Notice

This Notice supplements the ApexReport Privacy Policy and provides additional information required under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), for California residents.

Your California Rights

As described in Section 6 above, California residents may request to know, delete, or correct their personal information, and may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and may limit the use of sensitive personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@apexreport.org or use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Site footer. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 years of age without the affirmative authorization required by law.

Do Not Track

As noted above, our Services do not currently respond to browser-based Do Not Track signals, but we honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required by law.

Shine the Light

California’s “Shine the Light” law permits residents to request information about our disclosure of certain personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. To make such a request, contact us at info@apexreport.org and specify that you are requesting your “California Shine the Light Notice.”
