The Boy from Auckland

In 1958, his performance in the New Zealand Grand Prix caught the attention of Jack Brabham, who invited the young Kiwi to join Cooper in Europe. Bruce became the first recipient of the “Driver to Europe” scheme, a program designed to give promising New Zealand drivers international experience.
