When TATIANA was delivered in 2021, she wasn’t just another addition to the world’s superyacht fleet — she was a milestone for Turkish shipbuilding. At 80 metres (262 feet) in length, TATIANA became the largest yacht ever built in Turkey at the time of her launch, and the first vessel in Bilgin Yachts’ now-influential 263 series. Built to accommodate 12 guests across 8 cabins with a crew of up to 23, she remains one of the most striking large yachts to emerge from the Bilgin yard.
A Landmark for Bilgin Yachts
Bilgin Yachts, based in Istanbul, had already built a reputation for large, well-engineered motor yachts before TATIANA came along, but nothing on this scale. Construction began in early 2016, and the yacht was launched in February 2020 before undergoing sea trials over the following months. She was formally delivered to her owners in July 2021 — a five-year build process reflecting the scale and complexity of the project.
TATIANA went on to become the first of what has grown into a small family of 80-metre Bilgin-built superyachts, cementing the 263 series as one of the shipyard’s flagship platforms and putting Turkish large-yacht construction firmly on the map alongside more established European builders.
Design and Styling
Naval architecture and exterior design were handled by Unique Yacht Design, led by Emrecan Özgün, who described the brief as creating a “bullet-like sporty look” — a sharp, streamlined profile rather than the boxier lines common on displacement yachts of this size. That sporty intent shows in TATIANA’s two-tone finish: a white superstructure set against a cool grey hull, giving her a purposeful, athletic silhouette despite her considerable bulk.
Interiors were entrusted to the British studio H2 Yacht Design, known for work across some of the industry’s most prominent large yachts. Inside, TATIANA’s character comes through in a material palette of rich Macassar ebony, rare eucalyptus wood, and veined marble, paired with vast, light-filled deck spaces and a contemporary layout designed to keep guests connected to the sea rather than closed off from it.
Layout and Accommodation
Spread across four decks, TATIANA offers guest accommodation for up to 12 people in 8 suites: a master suite, two VIP cabins, four double cabins, and a twin cabin, with a mix of king, queen, double, and single beds depending on configuration. A crew of up to 23 looks after guests onboard, supporting an on-board lifestyle built around large, flexible entertaining spaces rather than tightly packed cabins.
Notable features include an infinity pool on the aft deck, a sundeck Jacuzzi, a beach club, a fully equipped gym, a movie theatre, an elevator connecting decks, and a helipad — along with an extensive selection of water toys and tenders. Zero-speed stabilizers keep the ride smooth at anchor, and her generous outdoor living areas reflect a broader trend among large modern yachts toward spaces that blur the line between indoors and out.
Engineering and Performance
TATIANA is built with a steel displacement hull and an aluminium superstructure, measuring a 12.2-metre beam and roughly 3.5 metres of draft, with a gross tonnage of 1,689 GT. Power comes from twin MTU 16V 4000 M73L diesel engines, each producing 2,560 kW, giving her a top speed in the region of 19 to 20 knots and a comfortable cruising speed around 15 knots.
Her real strength, though, is range: at a fuel-efficient cruising speed, TATIANA is capable of covering roughly 7,500 nautical miles — enough for genuinely long ocean crossings without refuelling. She was also built to comply with IMO Tier III emissions standards, making her, at the time of her 2021 delivery, one of the more environmentally considered large yachts in her class.
A Benchmark Vessel
More than four years after her delivery, TATIANA remains a benchmark for Turkish yacht construction and for the Bilgin 263 platform specifically. She combines the range and volume expected of a serious long-distance superyacht with a sharper, sportier exterior than many displacement vessels her size typically carry — a balance that has helped define the identity of every Bilgin 263 built since.
